"whenis"? How about:
alias whenis='date +%Y%m%d-%H%M%S' or it's elk below? The other distros don't have one becuase they don't _need_ one. And if you don't like whenis , append:
-d, --date=STRING
display time described by STRING, not ‘now’
-f, --file=DATEFILE
like --date once for each line of DATEFILE
I know you're streatching a point here, but that's not a good one. Try again.<nobr> <wbr></nobr>:-)
