Alex Trebek hosts Jeopardy. You're thinking of Pat Sajak of Wheel of Fortune. Actually, Alex has filled in a few times, including an April Fool's day episode, but in General, Alex isn't involved. Of course, they were also both the brainchildren of Merv Griffin.
