Lee, thanks for the review and I'm glad you liked the book (I'm a happy camper<nobr> <wbr></nobr>:-). My biggest fear was that I wrote a technology bomb, so far it looks like it's not!<nobr> <wbr></nobr>:-) Others have reported that they bought the book for certain chapters and that they were happy with the book. This was the first full review I've seen so far.
On the issue of the book being "a little light on hands-on tips and tricks". You are correct, sorry about that. As you pointed out the various web sites are available to support the software (as well as my forums, see my home page below). The editors and I also had a remove a bunch of material to slim it down to the current number of pages. We had to remove 2 whole chapters plus various other material. There is much to be covered with Linux HA and I hope to get around to doing just that.
If anyone has any questions related to Linux Home Automation (or any other Unix for that matter) just drop by or send an email. I'll do my best to respond quickly to your query.
