The StartCom Certification Authority provides you certificates for free and they are supported and trusted by the upcomming <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/projects/bonecho/all-rc.html" title="mozilla.org">Firefox 2</a mozilla.org>!

Most software vendors don't trust Cacert and you shouldn't either!
