Missing Department and Product codes for the GL

Sorry, this isn't an acceptable system, even for a moderate-sized retailer. Taking a supermarket, as an example (we all buy food);
- Keeping the produce, grocery, meat, frozen food, and non-foods departments separate without multiplying the number of accounts exponentially.
- Keeping two or more stores distinct without having to have multiple companies and all the I/C accounting that would be needed. Especially if not required legally.
- distinguishing products within departments, like beef, lamb, pork, chicken within the meat dept.
- different types of items with different labor, profit, spoilage rates - all of which needs to be managed fianancially.

Don't get me wrong, there is opportunity to improve GREATLY with simple additions, but as is, not acceptable for any but the smallest businesses.
