And it *does* offer features beyond the free word-processors. One feature that meant a great deal to me was the ability to create text boxes oriented in different directions, for example when creating 4-fold invitations. Textmaker has all sorts of goodies like that. It's also less prone to crashing when mixed fonts are used than Abiword.
