I did some consulting work for a couple of companys here in NY (fortune 500) and they use NIS, dont ask me why but they do insecure or not they use it. I guess its mainly to because some of the old timers who have been there for years just like the fact that they can set it up in no time compared to LDAP. Even when I go on job interviews people stiil ask if i know NIS ????
