Are you sure about Open Office? I installed it using Vector's package manager and without changing the default repo. Open Office even starts with a modified splash screen displaying "Vector Linux Open Office". I am fairly certain the package is available in the standard repo. Otherwise a nice review. Vector 5.8 is great on older hardware. I'm using it on a P3 with 384MB of ram and it runs kde much better than any other distro I've tried on this rig.
