Please dont forget the ebuilds.They are already a standart of making packages (in gentoo world) There has been mentioned we need some information about the package, what was on||off when compiled, what are the depencies and so on. But the most important thing.There must be a way, when you have a source code only to make "simply" a new package.And I am pretty sure that an ebuild is the best middle step between source and package. It is quite easy to write one and all necesary information are already there. Please consider that.
