Last time I've played FreeCol was like..6 months ago (can't remember what version). I dont know about 0.5.3, but the one I've played, technically, was a bit frustrating buggy. I dont find java as pretty attractive for games, but heh.
Anyway, FreeCol, as game-play, its a nice game, and I recommend it to everyone sleepless, looking for some fun. It has a bit of strategy, a bit of rpg, a bit of "pure action".
