I've been on the watch for my child's first OS. Eventually she'll be old enough to have her own computer and to date (unless OLPC adopts the buy two, get one plan) Edubuntu seems to be the winner. A full desktop is a pretty heavy introduction but "built for education" indicates an amount of holesomeness without vetting all components myself or resorting to UbuntuCE.
Has anyone a recommendation on a window manager or distrobution I should have a look at?
