I agree.
There is a lot of denial in the OSS world especially regarding bugs in desktop software.
Yes, the progress is fast but the quality lacks. Also, the answer one gets is almost always "upgrade to latest version" so one has to upgrade to the latest distro version.
This process is not going to work in the long run. The OSS world must realise this.
