It did but it doesn't, thanks Stefan<nobr> <wbr></nobr>;-) Fixed since kino-0.9.4-alt0.cvs20061224 package.
As freetype and ffmpeg were more or less the same (there's some effort to tell for sure when one lives on unstable) within the time of change, I tend to attribute the former problem exactly to libdv usage for video.
