Have you ever heard of a "tradeoff?" It's patently obvious that your decision to use a single-sign-on service costs the risk of a single-point-of-failure. That's neither unique to OpenID's authentication protocol nor is it news. Just like if you choose to register dozens of unique passwords at dozens of public sites, the tradeoff is that you risk forgetting any one of them and being locked out of that site when you need it. Either way you have pros and cons, and you make a choice. OpenID doesn't alter that at all.
