Disabling password access in sshd is a superior approach in terms of security, but may not be workable.

The scripts, by contrast, have a number of flaws, with misinterpretation of unusual login names, dns spoof redirect attack potential, and other issues. This is a clear improvement on the logo-watching scripts.
