Postfix draws no more resources than spamd when performing those same functions. That was the point of the question. Postfix, the already running MTA, can perform all of the functions of spamd described in the article, and then some. It does it all without an more resource drain than spamd itself. Therefore, why run yet another process to eat memory, crash, get rooted etc.

When you are already using Postfix I seen no reason to use spamd and your response has done nothing to convince me otherwise.
