Ok, to be honest I did have to look twice to grok the phrase "Category 5 cable" but only because I've been dealing with this kind of stuff for decades. It's easy for those of us who live and breath this world to understand the acronyms and slang. But to rag on someone who actually uses the proper term for something instead of the slang is ridiculous.
You know, there are still many acronyms and slang terms I don't know. Even in the IS/IT industry. It burns me to no end when people use them without regard for whether their potential audience knows what they mean.
Next time you feel the urge to criticize try doing it on the subject of the post and not something as trivial as whether proper geek speak was used.
