The problem is that it is sooooo easy to realize what Microsoft is plotting. Its like a corporation of the 1980s, and it has hardly learned anything.
Money is still where they can put leverage, and trivial patents play into their hands as well. But nothing can stop Microsoft from slowly becoming irrelevant since it is simply unable to keep up the pace of real inventions and innovations.
