Parody does not have to resemble its target, look at Chevy Chase's Jerry Ford and Will Ferrell's GWB, neither of which resembles the target but both of which are humorous.
Or are you one of those comedy snobs that wants funny "Ha Ha" and not funny "Ho Ho?"
