Female F/OSS

Posted by: Anonymous Coward on May 16, 2007 01:19 AM
The amount of females who attend these kind of things, and who are interested in these things in general, are rare. But is this really a F/OSS thing?
It affects most if not all parts of the software development.

If the F/OSS movement, would try harder at getting females to help develop, create, etc. , we will have a more broad view of all things. Besides, woman think different, so in a world that is indeed very male, the woman way of thinking is more likely to come up with new innovative, progressive, etc., ideas.
If the F/OSS community could attract such a new group, I am sure there would be an awful lot of innovation, that would benefit us all, and give an extra momentum to the overall movement of Open Source.

This is coming from a man, of course.
