Your use of gFTP indicates that you may be using Gnome. Certainly I can't think of many KDE users who would use gFTP - Konqueror simply does it all anyway.
In much the same way, Nautilus does at least all that gFTP does - and then some. To me - a frequent Gnome and occasional KDE user - it makes little sense to add yet-another-tool-that-does-the-same-old-thing-in-<nobr>a<wbr></nobr> nother-different-way to my toolbox.
I'd simply use Nautilus in Gnome and Konqueror in KDE.
