Rumors of new Gnash functionality exaggerated

While Gnash seems to be progressing quite quickly (and SWFDec as well) there is a problem I have found with some websites and Flash files. I am talking about checks for the latest version of Adobe Flash which don't let users proceed if the test comes back negative. This means that Gnash can't play some files which it would be perfectly capable of handling simply because the author has used some hack to test the version, and the behaviour of Gnash doesn't run th hack in the same way as the Adobe player. In fact, I have seen several times when using the Adobe player (in a crudely made 32bit installation of Firefox inside my 64bit system) that I am prompted to get the "latest version", when in fact the test which was conducted simply identifies the Windows version of Adobe Flash Player 9 only. This is a highly annoying practice. (There are some files which I don't mind which say "Click here to proceed anyway", which should be used whenever these tests are made)
