He didn't say he was going to "take it back", he asked that it be given back to him. There is an enormous difference.

If no one has the time or ability to run the Foundation and advance Gentoo, maybe the Foundation should give Gentoo's intellectual property - Portage, code, logos, etc - back to the person who actually created Gentoo and made many personal sacrifices to help it become the extremely successful project that it is today, namely me?"
