When FC7 is installed from the LiveCD (Gnome), it is impossible to mount CDs and floppy discs because /etc/fstab is missing entries for /dev/cdrom and /dev/fd0. After appending lines for cdrom and floppy drives to /etc/fstab, mounting of those removable media is not automatic as it is on other Linux distributions, e.g. Ubuntu. Instead, one must open a terminal window and type a mount command.
