This fellow didn't mention ALT's security, which is the thing that makes ALT very interesting (although I've never used it myself). ALT uses a lot of patches and technology from the Openwall project which is a security-enhanced/hardened GNU/Linux distro. That alone would make ALT interesting.
And yeah, ALT's been around since forever. It's nice to see it getting some recognition outside of Russia.
