Well if anyone cares for both adequate content and SEO than they might care for site security/integrity at that point even more.
Joomla is unfortunately not a sort of a project with reasonable security trail and approach -- hope this will change but currently I'd recommend TYPO3 or Drupal and *against* Mambo/Joomla. Search secunia.com yourself.
BTW these two mature projects seem to have much better management and more coherent community as well. And plain GPL all the way through, with no corporate hassles over the *code*.
