How did you Install? It works me perfectly. Just simply unpack an a the terminal go to the DEBS folder. run sudo dpkg -i open*.deb
after that you have to go to the menu integration folder the add the right deb file to your system with dpkg. So there is no problem with it. Also you should remove the original OpenOffice.org packages.
