Yes Mepis does have fast downloading of updates worldwide. This is a first rate distro and a lot of work has gone into it. Its based on Debian now and includes rolling updates. All reviews are subjective to the reviewers hardware, what the reviewer needs in a distro and also personal preference. This is a good review and yes it will keep as well as PCLOS. While PCLOS is a first rate distro we need to remember that distros are not in competition with each other, or they shouldn't be. Its all about having a choice. SimplyMEPIS is a very good choice.
