It's a pity that Autopackages are still a bit fiddly to create. Debian packages are a POP to create by comparison. (especially if you just use Checkinstall, which I don't do when I'm going to distribute the packages). I haven't used many Autopackages - just Warzone 2000 and Scribus, but it didn't cause any damage.
