I too have moved from Microsoft.Net to LAMP and open source in recent years and from a business pov it has been a great decision. While there will be issues with dealing with products from a number of organizations rather than consolidating all software under one company, the freedom, scalability and support this provides far outweighs the negatives.
I too was anti-Linux and open source only a couple of years ago, but I think this stemmed from fear of the unknown and what I then perceived to be difficult software to use with a steep learning curve. My only problem with open source now is that it provides me with so many opportunities that I cannot figure out what to achieve first...a good problem to have.
