Consider using the http://portpkg.berlios.de This is a ports system for Slackware - good piece of soft. The project provides the 'autoport' utility that is able to build SlackBuild from source URL. The project also integrates package and build script repositories (linuxpackages.net, slacky.eu, slackware.com, slackbuilds.org ...) to manage them from one place
