I really took things to the extreme, but I kept using Software Libre throughout all the process. I composed a song using Rosegarden as the sequencer and Ardour as the recorder and masterizer. I recorded my voice tracks for the song using LADSPA plugins, and I mixed and masterized it with Ardour. Then, I made a final rendering of the song and I later converted it to MP3 using LAME -q 0. I made sure my significant other received it before publishing it in my MySpace. When she feels ready to open it, I really hope that a song would be a perfect gift.
