Thanks for nice article, much more refreshing than all of those Mambo dances with Joomla loopholes. My personal recommendation for long-time projects that can just say that "we'll need a lot" in the very beginning is TYPO3 (we use it successfully for four years now for both community and business sites), but Drupal was runner-up in our selection and is usually recommended too.
