I kind of amazed at the audacity of some of the posters here, who apparently think this is a stage on which to glorify themselves. Well, guys, not only you don't impress me a bit, you've shown yourselves to be lousy readers, have veryl little to show off and of little patience! Those exalting ICMP ping tend to forget, due to utter ignorance, as far as I'm concerened, that Ping depends on ARP to start with. Whether or not ARP retrieves stale information has nothing to do with its integrity: if Ping depends on ARP it suffers the same shortcoming!
