In looking at his comments, I can see his point on keeping the dialog open, but think it is one sided.
From all I've read, the OOXML isn't a fully open standard, and has some things that are still undocumented.
If MS want to make it a real standard, then it should be fully documented and released like the ODF format.
There needs to be an equal playing field. Right now, it is reversed, there are many organizations that require Microsoft Formats only.
If MS is allowed to get a standard without doing these things, why should they change the methods.
