Windows XP has never disappointed, sure it may be badly designed and too resource intensive but it still is a good OS and its a shame to see it replaced.
Vista is too resource intensive but now with SP1 actually has become great, regretably, it is the future. Whats the necessesity to change? Eye candy, its a shame.
Ubuntu is clean and I admit can integrate well into a normal environment with brilliant free software. If the wine emulator is 100% compatible with windows programs there seems little reason to use windows.
