Not true...the same kinds of security guidelines you use in Windows apply in Linux, too: separation of privilege, eliminating unnecessary services, not running with root privilege, etc, etc. Installing AV or AM software on Windows is not "security", it's a fallback to protect users who don't understand how to practice good security. Should the world's user base shift from Windows to Linux, the same kinds of problems are going to be experienced. An OS doesn't provide security, it provides the tools the admin uses to provide security. In the end, a system is only as secure as the admin, and if you think Linux is immune to all of the security threats and issues faced by Windows users....well....you're in for a rude awakening.
