LXPanel (http://gnomefiles.org/app.php/LXPanel) is the tool I miss in Mezzo desktop using Symphony One 2008.1.
Of course, I added the LXDE Ubuntu repository (Symphony One is based on Ubuntu 7.10), installed LXDE, switched to LXDE session - and then the LXPanel (menu) works really great!
But I wonder if it's possible to run LXPanel together with Mezzo desktop (uses fvwm)?
Mezzo Desktop requires about 25% less RAM than LXDE ( http://lxde.sourceforge.net/ )
(After system start it uses only about 105 MB of RAM, whereas LXDE - 130 or so). In my opinion these two projects should be merged in order to provide ultra lightweight DE.
BTW, in Symphony One with LXDE looks better than M$ Vista (see some screenshots at: http://symphonyos.com/cms/ ) and works very fast!
New SymphonyOne distro plays a different tune
