Why do we need the browser to play video? Every OS handles video in its own way and every video card and sound card has its own functions to play videos which the browser is completely unaware of. The level of sophistication required to bring fully integrated and good video playback inside a web browser is remarkable. I'm still quite angry with having to use proprietary flash/java players which very rarely work on anything not windows. Please, please leave this up to the operating system. It's where such a feature belongs. The browser's job should be to simply find bits of data and organize them on a page. Everything else should be done on the computer actually viewing the website. Bloatware is not the future.
