Brad Neuberg, Google Gears, and the future of the Web

Brad seems like a smart guy. I don't agree with the idea or need for what he is suggesting. A lot of thought has went into making web browsers operate the way they do. Some of those people actually knew what they were doing when they created the plugin interface for browsers. Without it, google gears wouldn't be able to work at all. And most people don't like the idea of any web site being able to push out updates to your browser. I personally don't want my browser to look like my mother's system tray, and I don't need the bloat.
