Well I had the problems outlined in the errata and I fixed my upgrade issues entirely on my own. It was not until I was checking to see if a bug report was necessary that I read that it was already a known issue. I had pretty much used the same sequence of fixes outlined in the Mandriva notes. I guess that's what happens when one uses the same OS for over 7 years.
As a newbie I made many mistakes and had to reinstall to recover. Now I just fix things. You may not be happy to hear it but learning does have its rewards.
