I'm the anonymous poster claiming that Dimdim only pretends/pretended to be open source. Thanks for the update on the situation. When I tried Dimdim, it was maybe four months ago. I did do my research. I'm simply NOT going to download every single version they release and fight with it. I'm glad that they removed those limitations...IF that IS truly the case. I simply happened to notice this article and left a comment about my experiences. Apologies if it's out of date.
The fact remains that when I tried it out, (in my opinion) it really WAS nothing but a scam abusing the "open source" moniker. Maybe they've changed, although I'm reminded of an adage about leopards and their spots. But they've already betrayed the community's trust (and wasted more than enough of my time) once. I'm not giving them a second chance now that I've found OpenMeetings. http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/ .
