Another great thing about Ubuntu Linux is that it has a "text-based" installation that can be started immediately after you boot the Ubuntu Linux CD.
With this "text-based" (rather than "point-and-click" GUI) installation, you can install Ubuntu on older systems with low memory and hard disk storage space.
The benefit of doing this is that "old" computers that would normally have to dispose of - because they wouldn't run the "bloated" Windows OS - can easily run Ubuntu - for free!
