Happy Independence Day

I welcome this topic. I find idiotic to close our eyes to other issues and pretend the world is just roses (or, regarding this site, just good Linux news).

As a non-US citizen, I congratulate you on this celebration of such an important date. As time passes, I value US heroes like Thomas Jefferson more and more. He would be a remarkable man, even -- or perhaps even more -- if he lived today. More than ever, we need more intelligent, clear-minded US folks like him.

Perhaps, this is a great moment to think about your government, how it can become more of a democracy, less belligerent and maybe take a wiser and more peaceful leading role in this world of turmoil.

Maybe you all could do your 2ยข for your country -- just by not voting wrong again. Let's be conscious about the consequences of our actions: one can kill or save with a decision.

It's your choice. And no one can change what you want. Even if it makes no difference, you can go to the sea and throw a stone -- and no one, no matter how powerful will be able to stop you. On the other hand, whatever you choose, it will be your merit or fault.

5 years from now, you won't be able to blame things on the others.

Don't just do it!

Instead, think well first and only then act.
