I thought this was an international site. Seems it is by US citizens, for US citizens. As a British citizen, I was once asked in US by a US citizen whether we British celebrated Independence Day. Tbh, I have no issue with the guys that run this site celebrating it, I just don't expect a big dose of patronisation (sorry, patronization) thrown in when I want to read Linux news.
Any US citizen that is proud of their democracy, go do some digging about what the CIA gets up to elsewhere and you will find the CIA has assisted in the overthrowing of other countries democratically elected governments for the US's benefit. Perhaps they would a little more quiet about how great and good US democracy is.
And above all... what has this got to do with Linux???
Happy Independence Day
