Hi, I'm Allen Tom, the Yahoo authentication architect who was on the OSCON panel. What I meant to say was that the cryptographic techniques used by OpenID are fairly common techniques used by other SSO protocols. OpenID does not define any new cryptographic techniques that are not already used by other protocols.

Cryptography is very complex, I'd like to apologize if anyone in the audience was under the impression that I stated that "cryptography is not a rocket science."
