Yes, phpMyAdmin is 'better' if you;re looking for a full-blown DB management solution (creating new tables, modifying the definition of existing tables, creating a backup, etc.).
But that is not the problem DrasticGrid is trying to solve. DrasticGrid is great for adding a table of info from a DB to a webpage. Lime in the example, you can add a div that will contain the table (with editing capabilities!) That's not something you can do with phpMyAdmin.
