Most thiefs don't open the laptop case. If you do have a laptop big enough to hide a mobile phone inside with software on it to respond to a SMS with its current gps location. Of course moblie phone powered from laptop power itself. Good bit about SMS you send it phone gets it when its active. It would be nice if people made small compact answering pagers for this job and if laptop makers left a space for them in side there cases.

This would truly get on top of the thief problem. What laptop has a dial home device.

Non approved software is good HIDS software to detect what has been tampered with. Nice bit if you machine has had keyloggers and the like added and you can detect them you can send the pricks false data and have them walk into a police trap.

Lets get vengeful here. You steal my laptop I am out to get you. You better hope I don't ever catch up to you. Most likely better to leave my laptop alone. Question what human carrying laptops out there am I? More like me less laptop thief.
