Thanks for including 3tera in your article. You've done a good job highlighting some of the issues folks need to consider. However, while we are technically proprietary, it's somewhat overstated to suggest that we in any way limit our users choices.

AppLogic support numerous flavors of Linux, Open Solaris and Solaris 10 today, with Windows 2003 and 2008 coming in beta next month. Our system supports almost any middleware the customer chooses to run. Also, unlike most cloud systems which are available in only one or two data centers, AppLogic is already available through multiple partners in roughly 20 data centers throughout Europe, Asia and the US with more to come. Plus, we were the first to offer a full turnkey system users could install in their own facilities as well. You can't get a wider set of choices without building it yourself.
