1. gOS SUCKS! Trust me, my umpc came with gOS v2 Rocket and with in less than a week I ripped it out and installed Kubuntu. The newer versions of gOS are even worse and more restrictive.
2. Google doesn't own gOS. the "g" stands for "Good" e.g. goodOS. They just use Google apps to keep storage requirements to a minimum.
You want a lite weight OS try one with Xfce, Enlightenment, Fluxbox, etc...desktop enviroment you'll be lots happier.
